Reviews for Burgers Shakes
Review highlights
Based on 2,000 reviewsBurgers Shakes in Lexington, KY, is widely appreciated for its nostalgic, vintage atmosphere reminiscent of the 1960s, offering customers a unique dining experience alongside quality fast food. The restaurant consistently receives praise for its flavorful burgers, generous portions of hot fries—often compared favorably to popular fast-food chains—and well-crafted milkshakes that complement the savory menu items. Reviewers frequently highlight the great value, noting affordable prices and quick service without compromising taste or professionalism. However, a common point of attention is the establishment’s cash-only policy, which some find inconvenient due to the lack of nearby ATMs. Despite this, the overall feedback underscores a loyal customer base drawn to the combination of tasty food, classic ambiance, and efficient service, making Burgers Shakes a recommended spot for those seeking a satisfying, no-frills burger joint experience.
The burger was pretty good and the fries were excellent, but you better buy a drink because those salty fries will make your mouth dry. They’re still bomb. Chocolate shake is also good, so you could dip your fries in that and balance out the sweet and saltiness. BRING. YOUR. CASH.
Great vintage spot to grab a burger and fries. Like stepping back into the 1960s! Cash only.
I am absolutely surprised at the quality, price and taste of their food! Their prices were so, so cheap!! Their fries are the same as McDonald's fries. They are fast, courteous & professional. I have no idea why I've wasted money on other restaurants when this wonderful place has been here all along. I know where to come back to next time I'm in Lexington! One last thing... The milk shakes are perfect! I mean... WOW! My order was 2 Double Cheeseburgers, 1 large fry, 1 medium fry, 1 chili dog, , 1 fish sandwich, 1 small chocolate shake & 1 medium strawberry shake. My total was 18 & some change. This is HIGHLY recommended and I will be visiting again very soon!
Initially, we came here yesterday. However, I did insufficient research beforehand, as they are cash only, and they don't have a nearby ATM. However, don't let that discourage you, if you can, this place is so worth finding somewhere to get the cash you need to pay the bill at time of placing your order. Depending on your party, and everything that you order, I think 8.50-9 is a good estimate for the per person cost of a meal here, if you want to get drinks and fries. However, let's talk about today, I came back with cash, so we could experience this restaurant as a part of our 4 day weekend from Huntsville, AL. It's hard to explain how glad I am that we came back, because this place is really good for everything that it is. Some key phrases and words, I think I could conjure up to describe this place as; Delightfully Vintage, Simple, Lowkey, Inexpensive, High Quality, and Good Tasting Food. For two people, we spent under 17 for two double cheeseburgers, two medium drinks, and two large fries. Its contemporaries could possibly under cut it in price, however the quality of a meal you'll get from those places, could never fathom to touch what this place was able to achieve, especially for the money. I'd absolutely come back, if I lived here, or even closer than 5 hours away. I'd be sure to put this as one of the top places to make sure to come back to.
The burgers taste great, the fries were good and hot, and my vanilla milkshake was just right! You can't beat the price (11 for two burgers, small fries, and a shake) and my food was ready in about 1-2 minutes. Also, my small fry was about the size of a large which was a nice. I definitely recommend this place!
Fantastic restaurant with extremely reasonable prices run by a local family. I *highly* recommend this place for burgers. Please be aware, it is a cash only business
An ambience of complete and utter satisfaction. No seating, so I fill my ketchup cups in eager anticipation of these killer fries and burgerz, And ask other people if they’ve tried all of MY preciouss menu items. To my inescapable delight, they called my name shortly after I placed an order. Walkin’ out the double glass doors with stuffed bag in hand. Look down and sample fries...delicious. I Sample more. Go do some digging in your modular sofa; you just might have enough to “Dine-in..your truck”. Their Burgers, fries and shakes speak for themselves. THIS IS ‘MERICA
It's like an old 50s style fast food restaurant in multiple ways. It's quick, tastes alright and is pretty cheap. There really isn't much more that you can ask for. It's fantastic!
